My name is Alex Reiser and I am originally from Denison, Iowa. I’m going to be a junior at Briar Cliff University this fall studying Criminal Justice along with Sociology, Global Studies, and Graphic Design. I have lived in Iowa since birth and know no place better. When the opportunity of LIU arose, it sounded interesting and something I would enjoy so I applied, and I’m glad I did! My family is involved in farming, and agriculture and politics are often a topic of discussion in my daily life. Topics that affect me, interest me. So, to be part of a program that wants to involve college students such as myself, seemed like a great way to implement my knowledge and appreciation of Iowa. I wanted to participate in this program because of the chance to learn more about the infrastructure of the state and to gain knowledge as to how we can better it for the future. Also, the program included workshops on leadership, networking, and self-development which are all vital tools to help me be successful. So far, I have learned a lot and have met many great people!
