Jon Raftis

University of Iowa

I am a senior at the University of Iowa. My major is Finance and I am also pursuing a Certificate of Risk Management & Insurance. I am involved with various student organizations including Gamma Iota Sigma (risk management and insurance business fratertnity), Student Committee on Athletics, Hawks Nest, Sigma Chi (social fraternity), and Dance Marathon. I currently hold leadership positions in Gamma Iota Sigma, Student Committee on Athletics, and Hawks Nest and I previously held two leadership positions in Sigma Chi. I just completed my second summer as a Sales Representative Intern at the West Des Moines branch office of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. Risk Management Services. My primary activity was shadowing successful commercial insurance salespeople as they go went the different stages of the sales cycle. I am extremely excited and honored to be a part of the inaugural class of Leadership Iowa University.
